Ramadan Confetti Wands Craft

Ramadan Confetti Wands Craft

I usually do couple of crafts with the kids every week, and with Ramadan coming up soon inshaAllah, our crafts have been very Ramadan oriented.

My biggest pet-peeve lately has been clutter. Before every Ramadan, my goal is to organize and clean the house, especially the often neglected areas. For us, this is our craft closet. I stuff all my kids' crafts, sensory bins and games in there, along with my own never ending craft things. After years of purchasing stuff and hardly using anything, I basically have a small Michaels in my home.

So I've made a promise to myself that at least until Eid, I will only use what I have on hand to make craft projects with the kids. I have to say, not only did we use everything we had on hand for this project, but it came out super cute! My girls are already making more designs.

I also had some leftover Ramadan confetti from a couple of years ago that came in super handy for this craft. We plan to use some of these wands in gift baskets we plan to give out to friends and neighbors inshaAllah.

Materials:

  • Clear vinyl
  • Needle & Thread
  • Wood stick
  • Hot glue
  • Confetti/glitter
  • Ribbons or washi tape

Instructions:

  • Cut vinyl into desired shapes. We did moon, star, masjid, and 8 pointed star. For the masjid, we did a square shape for bottom and a dome for top, then hot glued them together. Make sure to cut two pieces for all shapes to make a pocket for confetti.
  • Next, using a needle and thread, stitch the two sides of the shape together. But don’t stitch all the way, leave space to add confetti.
  • Add confetti or glitter and then stitch the shape closed.
  • Hot glue the stick onto the vinyl shape.
  • Add pretty ribbons or washi tape around the wooden stick to decorate.
